APRIL 2018

I am incredibly honored to be included in Jo Packham's relaunch of her amazing WHERE WOMEN CREATE magazine.
Working with a new publisher, Jo has raised the bar and has created an even more striking, gorgeous and inspiring magazine.
I'm one of many female artists featured. (the pages here are just a sampling of the article) I'm pretty beside myself to be in a Jo Packham periodical again!
(See 2010 news when my artwork was featured in the inaugural year of Jo's Where Women Cook magazine as part of the "Farm Love" column)

The new magazine should be available through May 31st in Barnes & Noble, Michael's, Joann Stores and other retail spots that sell high-end art periodicals.

APRIL 2018

Brand new pieces for a group show in New York State this month.
I'm sad to see them go. They would look really pretty in my living room!
I'm going to paint more in this series, "Spring Reflections".

MARCH 2018

Lansdowne and the Arts Board celebrated Women's History Month in a big way with our first Creative Women of Lansdowne show at the 20*20 House Gallery.
I was thrilled to have three pieces in the show. The cherry on top for me was getting to design the promotional materials.
The imagery for the show is inspired by Another Mother for Peace member Lorraine Schneider's 1966 poster "War is not healthy for children and other living things".

My mother had a pendant of the large, graphic flower and blocky lettering that she wore frequently.
It was a powerful image for me as a child and came into my mind quickly when I was considering approaches to the visuals for the show.
The Another Mother for Peace website states "Its timeless message is as potent now as it was then."
I wanted to incorporate the strength and timelessness of Lorraine's flower with the female symbol.
The vines at the bottom of the flower represent growth and home with the sense of being planted somewhere, in this case Lansdowne.
The birds at the top of the flower represent my town's creative women as a flock living together, creating together and traveling through life together.

We'll be back again next year in Inverness, February 2019.

FEBRUARY 2018

Happy Chinese New Year - Year of the Dog!
I had a ball playing with canines this year.
The dogs are hand-drawn and then colored digitally in Photoshop.
I had a hard time deciding on a background color.
I like them both!

JANUARY 2018

Happy New Year and Happy HYGGE!
I'm really excited to share my new coloring book!
